Ankara Chamber of Commerce

Established in May 1923, Ankara Chamber of Commerce (ATO) is a non-governmental and non-profit chamber in Ankara/TURKEY with registered approximately 110.000 members.

There are 67 sectoral committees consisting of expert members engaged in improving the business environment and members’ capacity through their studies in every field of business life.

ATO is a chamber accredited by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB). It uses all ICC rules in its daily work and has an ISO 9000 certificate, as well. Thanks to various campaigns organized on behalf of the public’s welfare and benefit, ATO won two golden medals awarded by International Public Relations Associated (IPRA).

ATO’s main income resources are membership, registration and authentication fees. Ankara Chamber of Commerce, together with an annual capacity of 800.000 operations, has a remarkable experience in project implementation. Along with Erasmus+ programs and mobility projects funded by National Agencies of EU, ATO carries out multinational lifelong learning projects related to youth and adult education under the IPRA Grant Programs managed by the various ministries of Turkey and with its own resources.

ATO is designed in such a way that it designs the future and provides technical support to its members to enhance their commercial competitiveness and contribute to the welfare of the city. ATO’s one of the primary missions is to increase the number of private commercial companies in the city and promote the emergence of the new sectors in order to increase the added value to be produced in the region.

ATO have all the facilities and infrastructure that can offer high-value-added services. There are 16 specialized units within ATO providing all kind of services to meet any needs of its members with 282 staff in total, including 20 directors, 35 deputy directors, 68 experts and 159 officers. Additionally, ATO has a high capacity and a significant experience of managing and implementing projects and it embodies a department with six expert staff, infrastructure and equipment to manage any project. A consortium called Ankara Consortium for New Job Experiences (YİTAK) was established in 2014 under the coordination of Ankara Chamber of Commerce with the cooperation of 12 universities in Ankara. With its three-year accreditation, the YITAK Project was conducted for two periods 2014-2015 and 2015 - 2017 and students from many departments of the partner universities had the opportunity to do their traineeship in EU countries. With the accreditation which the ACC renewed in 2017, the YITAK Project continues to support students and staff from partner universities in the period of 2017 - 2019. Ankara Chamber of Commerce pioneered the Ankara Consortium for New Job Experiences in order to eliminate the gap between the business world and universities and to create results-oriented business mechanisms.
